Project Overview

This custom project is an old ship dock renovation and maintenance project for clients in Lyttleton, New Zealand. The client’s original old dock had been used for a long time, facing serious aging and damage issues, which could no longer meet the daily mooring requirement of jet skis and small boats. They needed to renovate and upgrade the old dock with new customized floating dock system, to improve the dock’s function and service life.

Project Core Objective

The core goal of this project is to complete the renovation and maintenance of the old dock, and deploy a new customized U-type floating dock system, to provide safe and stable mooring space for jet skis and small boats. The new dock system can effectively improve the user experience of the dock, and provide longer service life with lower maintenance cost for the client.

To perfectly fit the client’s small boat mooring requirement, we customized the new dock system with the following core configurations:

Challenge 01: Winch position centering requirement

The client had specific requirement for the centering position of the winch on the dock, to ensure the mooring operation can work smoothly, which needed to be adjusted from our standard design.

Our Solution: We fully adjusted the position of the winch and the winch bracket strictly according to the client's specific requirement, ensuring the winch can be perfectly centered, fully meeting the client's mooring operation need.

Challenge 02: Custom dock board dimension requirement

The client needed to redesign the dimension of the dock board to match their specific mooring scenario, which was different from our standard size.

Our Solution: We fully redesigned the dock board dimension strictly according to the client's exact requirement, and completed the customized production, perfectly matching the client's unique scenario.
