Project Overview

This custom project is a government tender marine project for clients in the Philippines. The client needed to deploy a set of monitoring buoys to support their coastal management work, which can serve for both coastline boundary marking and long-term coastal water quality monitoring. Meanwhile, the client also had special requirement for the later maintenance of the buoys and monitoring equipment, which needed a reliable solution to support the on-site maintenance work.

Project Core Objective

The core goal of this project is to deliver a full set of customized monitoring buoy system for the government project, to achieve dual functions: reliable coastline boundary marking and long-term stable water quality monitoring. Meanwhile, we also provide a dedicated floating maintenance platform to support the later maintenance work of the buoys and equipment, effectively improving the maintenance efficiency and reducing the long-term maintenance cost for the client.

Tailored Product Configuration

To perfectly fit the client’s government project requirement, we customized the entire solution with the following core configurations:

Custom monitoring buoys in two sizes: 1000mm and 1800mm, to fit different monitoring and marking scenarios
Supporting core accessories: high-efficiency solar panel, radar reflector, heavy-duty anchor chain, to ensure the buoys can work stably in long-term offshore environment
Custom floating maintenance platform, built with 400pcs floating pontoon blocks, to provide a stable working platform for on-site buoy maintenance

Challenge 01: Custom equipment compartment size requirement

The client had their own monitoring equipment, and needed the equipment compartment of the buoy to perfectly match the size of their equipment, to ensure the equipment can be installed and work properly.

Our Solution: We fully customized the internal steel frames and equipment compartment strictly according to the client's exact requirement, ensuring the compartment can perfectly fit the client's monitoring equipment, fully meeting their customization need.

Challenge 02: Requirement for later buoy maintenance support

The client needed to conduct regular maintenance for the buoys and monitoring equipment, but lacked a stable working platform to support the on-site maintenance work, which would affect the maintenance efficiency.

Our Solution: We recommended the client to use floating pontoon blocks to build a dedicated floating maintenance platform. This platform can provide a stable working space for the maintenance team to repair and maintain the buoys and equipment, perfectly solving the maintenance problem, and helping the client reduce the long-term maintenance cost.
